edit: btw, you probably don’t want to watch this if you are prone to seizures.

I swear, this laugh gave me nightmares as a kid. Whenever I’d die while playing this game I’d literally get up, cover my ears and run as far away from the TV as I could (typically burying my face in a pillow or something). Scariest incarnation of Ganon IMHO, and that’s saying a lot considering he’s technically dead over the entire course of the game.

Haha oh man. I was the same. This game over screen kept me from playing this game as a kid, I think I was 4 or 5 when my cousins would play this. If they ever got a game over (and lets be real, this is Zelda 2, game overs are just around the corner at all times) I would run away crying. Just that flashing death screen was enough to put me on the edge because it could be the one to summon Ganon! I think it got to the point where my cousins would purposefully die just to scare the crap out of me and watch me run away to hide and cry. Hah. Hahaha ah man, it’s so crazy that there was someone else who was scared of this.

My mother is pretty Christian and so of course I was always taught to fear the Devil. The boogeyman is fake son, but ooohh the Devil, watch out for the Devil, that one is real. So I think for me at least, I probably saw this as Satan himself coming to earth via TV to grab me or something.

I remember a nightmare I had as a kid (one of the few childhood dreams that always stuck to me) where I was in my room and everything was coming to life, the vacuum especially was loud and scary, but worst of all was that in my panic I stared out the window and what I saw was basically the little black walking monster over world sprite, not the slime but the biped that basically looks like skinny Ganon. And he was slowly approaching my house all the while laughing his sick fucking laugh. Man, that game really got to me as a kid. Hah, anyway… yeah. Man. Video games.
